Finally, on 29 January 2022 country dancers from around this country gathered in Galveston texas to perform and pay tribute to mickey Gilley Gilley's nightclub and urban cowboy, all at Gilley's Pop Up Gilley's 50th and urban cowboys, 42nd anniversary, the four divisions of dance competitors gathering in Galveston's. Well that was The professionals, the legends, next generation and buddy and sissy. This is a testament to the continuing enthusiasm for country music and country dance that took off over 40 years ago
