Chapter three. Going to visit Dahlin. As dawn approached, Greta pondered how to transport the dragon. Perhaps she could put a net together. She looked around her hut but found nothing. She decided to explore along the forest's edge. A man was fishing by a stream not far from Greta's hut. A voice stood next to him holding a net. The boy race the net ready to toss it into the stream. Am I doing it right, papa? He looked at his father expectantly. You're doing fine, William, his father said. How long do I have to wait for the fish, papa? Be patient! His father replied to watched the father and son with interest. She remembered teaching her outlets to fly. Her husband was usually off hunting during these lessons. It was hard for her to get her outlets to listen to her, but once she got them to be quiet. Credit did not have any trouble. They were eager to learn, although there was one time one of her outlets almost ran into a tree because he was not looking where he was going. She turned her attention back to the fishing net. The boy was holding that net was exactly what she needed. But how is she going to get it? She didn't want to scare the boy. Then she had an idea to stretch her neck, took a deep breath and hooted as loud as she could. The father turned around. What was that? It sounded like an owl, William said excitedly. He loved owls over there, he said, pointing toward the nearby forest. Let's go papa. He grabbed his dad's hand and ran towards the forest. Slow down, William, his dad urged. We don't want to scare it, Greta watched them disappear into the trees, leaving the net behind. Now is her chance? She dove and grasped the net with her beak. Feeling victorious, she flew home. She glanced over at the baby dragon, still asleep on the small pile of leaves by her bed. Step one complete, she said triumphantly. Now, let's get you too darlin.
