Today we talk to one of my favorite rock legends, John Fogarty, about his new CD in Total Revival, which is out in stores now. Doing great. A couple quick questions. First, how did a guy Northern California come up with Deep by? Well, I think it's because the early rock and roll guys that I listened to it turned out that they were all from the South and without without really thinking about it or realizing it, I just took it all in, and it seemed to be the natural approach to rock and roll. I really had no idea at the time that it was also a Southern view. It was just something happens quite naturally, that your government reserves years ago. One of the first things he did was a crime. Proud Mary moves inspiration. I just spent the summer on my active duty, and I was back home the Bay Area on. I was really trying hard to get out of the Army and get released from my obligation. And, uh, finally there was a package sitting on the steps to my apartment and, you know, I walked by it like 23 days in a row. It said something like Official government business is something on this little waiting. I had no idea that it was for me. After it sat there for a few days. I find inside Why are they picking that up? So I looked down closer, have mining. So I opened it up and they were wanted with my honorable discharge from the army. And I went, Wow, you know, I was so happy about that, actually, quite literally went out on a little patch of lawn and turned a couple of car wheels and then went in the house and I wrote Proud Mary right there. I understand you about people back today or any other people way. Wouldn't even be talking. That was the truth. No, the old they say the old evil means bad People sold the record company about three years ago, I think. And they basically took their sacks full of money and went off somewhere else.
