Greetings,
I am a 43 year old male voice over talent. I sing across multiple genres of music from Johnny Cash to current pop, rock and hip hop. I grew up in kind of a split cultural environment, I am American Indian, attended Elementary and Middle School in 11 different states. My father built restaurants when I was a child all over. As a result I have lived in, or been in every state in the Union except North Dakota. In high school we settled in South Jersey which turned out to have some of the warmest people I'd met. During my time in NJ I went to two separate high schools, the first all white, the second all African American. By the time I graduated I had a strong understanding of the various cultures and dialects across this country. In addition, my last two years of high school just outside Camden, NJ rounded off my education and understanding. As an avid basketball player and singer, I fit right in without missing a step. It was a great education in understanding cultural speech and why.
My father has a very deep voice, but cannot sing at all. My mother has a 5 octave range like Mariah and still blames me for her singing career that never happened. ;)
Growing up my voice was choppy and hard to control. However, in my late 20's it became full, rich and deep never loosing the falsetto and everything in between. I can assume most of the dialects, for places I've lived after only a few moments of hearing them. I often accidentally pick up accents in conversation like Irish, etc. without even realizing it. I am well spoken, I'm also well versed in cultural dialects and switching between the various dialects as needed.
I would enjoy the opportunity to discuss your opportunity.
