If you've ever walked through the streets of new york city, you have probably seen one of these, a giant traffic cone looking vent, with steam coming out of the top. While these new york staples are quite the sight. What is even more interesting is what is happening underneath them. Steam is the gaseous form of water that occurs when heat is added to the liquid water until it reaches its heat of vaporization point, also known as the boiling point.
