In this course, you've learned noise levels are measured in decibels DB. A Hearing conservation training is required for all employees who are exposed at or above an eight hour time weighted average of 85 DB. A repeated exposure to loud noise, even for short periods of time each day can cause permanent hearing loss. Noise induced hearing loss is virtually 100 preventable. If you wear hearing protection properly and consistently, if you work in a high noise level area or perform a high noise level operation, you will receive yearly hearing tests and hearing conservation training.
