Our lives are but an ember flickering in the bitter cold air only to breathe her last breath, burning brightest as we descend to the earth. Eventually fading into the pale ash of the grave. Our time and our souls fight for a momentary breath and then we're gone. If our time is limited in this life, what are we fighting for? Who are we fighting for? Who's fighting for us? Who is our enemy? How do you fight an enemy? You can't see the world grows colder. The hearts we once held dear have begun to turn to stone. The warriors of light once proud, I'm bitter and our time draws nearer. The dragon once fabled as a walk in. How do you run from evil when hell is closing in around you? If our battle is not with flesh and bone, we turn our eyes to the hills where our help is coming. We stand side by side united in the heavenly realms, outnumbered, bloodied, pressed down but not destroyed. We fight side by side. If the darkness surrounds us, then we bring the light to the darkness. For darkness cannot drive out the light. The dragon is powerful, it deceives it lies, it destroys. But despite his army advancing, it will lose, it will lose the same way it lost in the beginning. For the dragon's weakness is pride. The lust for power is what drove him out of the kingdom of light and it will drive him and his armies into the kingdom of darkness once again. So we fight another day side by side. Waiting, enduring souls flicker as bright as we can muster in the time we are given confidently awaiting our hero savior, fire of a king soon bribing.
