Good morning. Former Press Secretary Sean Spicer has been tagged as one of the 81 people linked to the probe by the House Judiciary Committee into President trump. Danville City Council, in a work session last night voted unanimously to allow a special use permit for a site on Chatham avenue to be turned into a new community center. The Danville redevelopment and housing authority has outgrown the 1100 square foot facility they've been using on Bonner Avenue. This new site will be available to the community in and around Cardinal Village to help both youth and adults with life training skills tutoring, along with more space for a computer lab and team sports. Gary Wilson, the executive director of the D. R. H. A. Also hopes to partner with the youth and anti gang activities to allow them to utilize the space as well. The projects $1.5 million price tag will have just shy of half of it covered by a federal grant, with a remainder potentially being carried by local organizations and an appeal to the city of Danville, Danville Police responded to a call of shots fired this morning and found one victim dead. Authorities got a call of shots fired just after 3 30 in the area of Hughes Street near Ma Hollande's. Upon arrival they found a light colored suv that had crashed into a van parked on the street with the windows that it appeared to have been shot out inside the vehicle. The male driver was found deceased, according to Police Department spokesman Richard Chavis. The incident began further down Hugh Street and continued until the suv crashed at the intersection of Reed Street into that parked vehicle. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The Virginia State police is assisting in the investigation. The body will be transported to the medical examiner's office in Roanoke for further evaluation. Danville Police are investigating the second homicide in just over a week after a man was murdered near the Cross Creek apartments on the parker Road. Late friday police were called to an apartment at 25 to Parker Road around 11 20 pm, where they found a man lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots Before police arrived, the victim was taken to the emergency room at Silva Health by an ambulance where he was pronounced dead. Shortly after arrival. The victim has been identified as 21 year old Ki Mon Haley of Milton north Carolina. Investigators are seeking a suspect in the shooting death. 29 year old Ray kim Late a night of Danville is charged with discharging a gun in public, causing bodily harm and with using or displaying a firearm in public, both of which are felonies.
