there She waas sitting right in front of me. Beautiful as ever Have been a while, but I could never forget her face. She used to comfort me in the night after a long, hard day. Back then, money was tight. I'd be pulling in 12 to 15 hour work days just to keep the fridge stocked before her. I just drink it away with a glass or two Glenn Fedyk. But she was way smooth, earth and whiskey with her, that darkness would come. Then it would go. She showed me just a little glimmer of light. She talked about the world. She talk about her hounds. She talked about whatever was happening in the world that day in her eyes and I drink up every word of She made the mundane interesting and the repetitious exciting. But it was all temporary. Way only ever found one body in that car crash and it was hers. The other buddy never turned up, and girl, I know he could still be alive there, but that was owned the past. It's been eight years since then. A lot has happened. I've since gotten new partners on this next case. Detectives Jesse and Michael. They work fair enough, but their brothers and they don't really trust me in my ethics. But if I could get on their good side, we may actually wrap this next case up by next week. All that I need right now is a little peace and quiet. But with those two, that's not what you're gonna get. Michael's the kid brother of the group. He's fine on his own. But man, does he talk around people. I can see why nobody wants him to be their partner. It looks like I'm stuck with them. He does have the techno how in the group, though. His older brother Jesse, though he has his mind Street not afraid of anything but that doesn't matter. He's a bright detective, though he does have smoking problem, not even cigarettes. It's much of a pipe. I mean, I'm one for the old classics myself, but I'm not one for smoking together. They work all right, I guess if a little chatty, I like some peace and quiet when I'm working by myself. But that's not what you're gonna get when you have partners on your side. Well, beggars can't be choosers, I suppose. We just have to get this case wrapped up
