My mother left us when I was two years old. My brother was younger than me. When my mother left, my father decided to marry another wife. That's when our problems started. The most negative influence in my life has been my father molesting me. Every time my stepmother left, I became my father's wife. I would advise others to be patient and not make quick decisions. One of the things I've seen is that traffickers come when you're at your lowest point in life and unable to make good decisions and they take you out there for me. I made a rush decision because I was hungry and I went one day I ran away from an organization that was helping me because I had become pregnant from a man. I was seen when I came back to the organization and asked for forgiveness. They asked me what I wanted to do with my life. I said I wanted to work so I could take care of myself and the baby that was coming and that is how I got connected to international Sanctuary. And the day that I came to international Sanctuary, one of the participants had passed away. So it was a sad day and all of the sanctuary was morning. Even though there was sadness, it was a happy day for me because I saw the care and the love I saw how they were together. This encouraged me that surely this was the place God had brought me to. So I could work with these women. I think the difference International sanctuary is making in the world is helping women, women who are single mothers, women that don't know what they want to do with their life. Women who are hopeless women who are vulnerable. In many ways, International Sanctuary helps them to understand that there is still hope and there is still a life that they can build for themselves.
