It usually takes me about 2 days to compile a working video from my raw footage. Narration work for my videos usually take less than a day.
Microphone
USB microphone I use for voice over in my videos, and a couple different wired and wireless lapel microphones sometimes for my actual video recording
Computer & Software
I flip-flop between Adobe audition and Audacity for my audio most of the time. I am most familiar with Audacity though. Sometimes I'll just do my simple audio editing in my video editing program though.
Special Equipment
I bought a 10×12 shed and turned it into a studio/science lab. I made sure I insulated it from sound pretty well and live in a quiet mountain town anyway. Noise pollution is seldom an issue
