I am a Customer/Public Service Expert with over 25 years of experience in Hospitality, Health-Care, Education and working with vulnerable populations. I was also a Concierge in the setting of Executive Education that serviced Excutives from around the world. I have earned my Associates and a Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management and have a Masters Degree in Human Behavior.
Early on as a Girl Scout and throughout life I am naturally a people person who enjoys providing a postive, rewarding and memorable experience with those I encounter personally and professionally. Growing up my mother and I would imitate the voices of those in commercials, television shows and movies. I have been told that I have a nice voice and speak eloquently over the phone and in person.
I have had clients, customers and guests come to me in person and say, "I spoke to you on the phone" and smile. One instance, I worked in an Intensive Care Unit waiting room as a Patient Family Liasion in a major hospital where I would speak with the Operating Room staff on a daily basis via the phone. The Charge Nurse came into the waiting room where I was stationed and looked at me sitting at the only desk. Their response was, "Shelly?" I said, yes and laughed. I was told that I was not what they expected and that I spoke proper on the phone. This was not the first time I was told this and took it as a compliment. My mother was a radio personality and a freelance writer, so it is in my DNA.
