The princess who wasn't a princess. One night when she was asleep in her bed all tucked in and cozy in her blankets. Monique was woken up from a lovely dream about riding a beautiful winged horse across a bright blue sky. The knock knock knocking chased the dream away. Who's there? Monique called out. She turned on her bedside lamp and jumped out of bed putting on her fuzzy red slippers. Slowly. She opened her closet door out, jumped a short green man with a crooked nose and a long white beard. He was even shorter than Monique. He took off his red stocking cap as he bowed, showing off his bald head. He was wearing a bright blue suit with white ruffles around the collar. Several of his fingers were wrapped in white bandages. He looked silly and he smiled big toothy grin at Monique. Hello, Princess. He greeted her. I'm so glad I found you. We need to hurry, hurry. Princess Monique repeated. She was so confused. What are you talking about? How did you get into my closet? I came through the door. He said, waving his bandaged finger at the back of the closet.
