to my amazement and delight, I was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for my role in Mary Poppins. The event was held at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. I sat at the Disney table with our screenwriter, producer Bill Walsh, his wife nelly and Roddy McDowall, among others. Mr Jack Warner. There was a pause of about five seconds during which I contemplated the possible end of my career, followed by an explosion of laughter.
