Funny thing about perfection. There is no in between no close, no, almost. If something is near perfect, it is by definition not perfect. Perfection knows nothing of ambiguity has no need for nuance. Perfection is black and white, open and shut. Perfection defies comparison. It is distinctive and pure, so pure that it has a way of announcing itself. You can see it in the flawless architecture of a snowflake, smell it in a lawn that has just been hand mowed. You can feel it in the velvet soft scruff under a dog's chin. Of course, perfection is also in the eye of the beholder. There's the majestic perfection of the Eastern Sierras and the humble perfection of a well worn pair of jeans. Perfection comes to us in all shapes and sizes. It is old and new, fleeting and everlasting, but most of all perfection is rare. 100 and 25 years ago, we captured perfection and we've been keeping it in a bottle ever since.
