Hi welcome to General Physics one P. H. S. 1 71. This is the first course in a three course algebra based series on general physics intended for science majors. We're excited to offer this course and in it you will learn many of the fundamental topics in physics and more typically mechanics. This course explores topics such as how to describe and analyze motion in one and two dimensions algebraic lee. We will study essential topics such as cinematics, dynamics, forces, energy, momentum and Newton's law of gravity. We investigate principles of energy and momentum conservation and apply them to linear and rotational motion. The purpose of this course is for you to be able to identify and define physical quantities, explain major principles of physics, apply laws of mechanics to explain physical phenomena and solve problems, connect and explain contributions of scientists to the development of laws governing physical phenomena and the concepts and theories which integrate them demonstrate your knowledge of fundamental physical principles through interpretation of everyday phenomena. Apply critical analytical skills to evaluate physical phenomena and their effects, develop clarity of definition, consistency of logic and adequacy of evidence demonstrate clear understanding of scientific method and its application to the fundamental principles governing physical universe.
