my cousin Sue by Tanya Hilson. Hey, cousin, London said as she ran in sues room, almost tripping over the moving boxes as she wrapped her arms around Sue. So you finally move closer to me now. We could see each other every day. Have you spoken to your parents yet about going to my school? Trust me, Sue. It would be so cool. I know some kids could be cruel, and some may not understand. But once they get to know you, things will be different. I have other friends that felt like you, thinking no one would like them because they look different, too. Do you believe the fastest kid on our school track is small and the kids will call him a midget? As he walked down the halls, they used to talk about how small gym iwas and how he had a big head. But he showed them how tall he waas by breaking records and track the long jump. The high jump. Jimmy does it all. Now. All the high school track teams want Jimmy on their team when he graduates next fall. I also have another friend named Hakim, who was born with half an arm. The congenital disability is called **** Amelia, but Hakim catches football's like NFL stars. Besides catching balls, Hakim is an artist to he could draw anything. Look, he drew this picture of me and you look, cousin, the kids even talk about me and how I dress. They always say, I wear socks that never match. I don't care what others have to say about me or how I dress. I'm going to dress how I like. I still feel flawless. Cousin Sue. Your parents have been homeschooling you for a very long time, and I think now, since it's our last year of middle school, you should try mine. There is nothing for you to be scared about, for you are beautiful. Then you have a pretty smile. The kids at my school would like you to because of your personality and style. Just tell your parents you would like to go to my school and just give it a try. You will not be alone, cousin. I'll be right by your side. My skin may look different, but I'm the same as you. I like movies. I love pizza and I love to play sports too. But when I was attending schools, other Children would tease me. Some will point, some will stare. That's why my parents home schooled me. So you're my cousin and you're like a sister to me. But don't you get lonely with this home schooling? I am London and you're right. I'm beautiful. Regardless of my skin is dark and light. I will tell my mom I would like to tend regular school and thanks, Cousin London, for giving me the courage to want to go back to school. When London went to school, all the Children seemed toe like her. Her beauty, her personality and her style is what's shined on her. And five years later she became prom queen, marrying her high school sweetheart and living her dreams. The end PS. It's never cool to talk about people because they look different than you always remember to treat others as you would like for them to treat you. Copyright 2020 Tanya Hilson all rights reserved.
