About George Asteri

George performed on stage with Oscar-winner, Christopher Walken in Richard II, and had the honor of acting with the late Stratford, Ontario, Canada Stratford Theatre star, Nicholas Pennell in Richard III. George acted with New York film, television, and stage actor Robert Sevra in Hamlet. He starred as Hamlet in a short film of Hamlet produced and directed by Fax Bahr, winner of National Primetime Best Director Emmy, the D.W. Griffith Award, and Best Documentary Award from the National Film Board of Canada. Fax is best known as the executive producer of Mad TV and In Living Color. George performed in three one-man shows of Shakespeare and in an outdoor ensemble production dedicated to honor Shakespeare's birthday. He also starred in several Radio Theatre productions for Delta College radio. Most recently George Asteri starred as Prospero in Saginaw Valley State University's theatrical production of Shakespeare's The Tempest. George has been a voice actor since 1990. As for the large cast, only three or four spoke with clarity and conviction --in particular, the lead, George ... , as Prospero, he being a longtime Shakespearean buff who knows how to speak the words majestically. He needed to teach and coach the rest of the cast members, who clearly were not comfortable with the script and rushed words.
