time Kenis painful memories, but it can never totally heal the deep cell trauma. I have lots of memories from my boyhood in Poland, some good and many others living nightmares. For many years I have resisted telling my entire story because I did not want to reactivate those disturbing shadows and ghosts and why imposed them on others. Mainly, I didn't want to reexamine the horrors one human can inflict on another, or how entire nations conduce end into savagery. But now, with the final pages of my life turning quickly, I must write down what I experienced and bear witness to what must never be for gotten.
