Ethan had no friends and preferred to stay that way. The solitude offered him a little refuge from all the chaos of the outside world to him. There are many bad things in the world and he avoided them by not getting involved. Today, we will study classical culture. Mr Acker said, Greece and Rome. All the other boys sighed and groaned. None of them thought, studying the cultures of the ancient world was remotely fun. But Ethan thought otherwise, he enjoyed learning how the great minds of the past thought and what they believed about the universe, the myth of the pantheon of gods. Greek and Roman attempted to give a universal explanation. Mr Ackers explained, but the sense of unity was missing and these gods were as imperfect as any man or woman. But everything changed with the teachings of Paul. The Apostle Ethan said, breaking his rule of never speaking in class. He spoke to the Athenians about the God who made the world and all that is in it, who is Lord of heaven and earth. Mr Ackers was impressed but the rest of the class made fun of Ethan. They didn't understand how Ethan knew about that sort of thing. The boy has read about the scriptures. A strange voice said in a mocking tone. It's rare to find someone his age who knows about that sort of thing. A kind warm voice added. Ethan searched with his eyes and found two strange figures near the window talking to each other. He rubbed his eyes and tried to focus on the two figures and only then could Ethan see clearly that they were two mysterious men. He looked sideways wondering why no one else seemed to see them and thought he was going crazy. 01 of the men said, I think he can see us. How interesting the other grinned mischievously. Ethan bit his lips to keep from screaming out of fear. As that man with dark eyes and pale skin walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. Fear gripped Ethan and he closed his eyes to prepare for the worst. But after a couple of seconds that felt like an eternity, Ethan felt something he had never felt before. Peace, hope and faith altogether. Everywhere, Ethan opened his eyes and saw a realm of breathtaking beauty filled with majestic landscapes, beautiful gardens and crystal rivers. The kingdom thrived under the benevolent rule of a wise and just king who upheld the principles of righteousness, love, power, prosperity and harmony.
