Hi and welcome to Fado, the most southern city of Portugal and capital of the Algarve. This tranquil city has been around for a very long time. It is located near a lagoon which made fishing easy and attracted settlers as early as four centuries before Christ. Between the eight th and 12 th century Fado was in Moorish hands today. You can still see the influence of the Moorish occupation in some of the buildings. Let's explore the town.
