We like doing it and we're about half lit at this point, welcome into the cheap seats podcast. I am the juice. He is the big man. And for some god awful reason we're in a good mood. So buckle up and open the tab. Let's go. Yeah. What's up buddy? What's happening buddy? It's been a pretty good week for me man. It's your last day for the week. Sure is I got one more day to go. But that's alright. I'm I'm still hanging in high. We're gonna crack them open tonight and we're gonna hope to God we make it up in the morning. Oh yeah, God, I have to make it in the morning or I won't get paid for my time up. I don't know. That's why I made it in this morning. I didn't, I didn't go to bed till like one o'clock and I have to get up at 5 30. Oh yeah, because you got about an hour drive. So I'm at like uh say probably 4.5. I might just be slap happy at this point. I don't know, I'm at like 4, 4.5 hours of sleep at this point. I've been there. Yeah, so I don't know if I'm just in a good mood or slap happy or what it is, but like, I mean, I don't know, you just sit there at night and I'm like, I'm not tired. I'm not tired and I keep looking at the clock. I'm like 10 30 11, 11.30. I'm still not tired. Yeah, at one point and then I just laid there and started stealing. So I'm like, Okay, back up Buckingham about half drunk. Like I'm like, I should be wind it back. You're like drunk. Yeah, good to go just drunk and I don't know, it's like, I'm, I don't have any idea, just can't get enough sleep and you know what happened to me, but I'm still in a really good mood usually after those days, after those nights, the next day, I'm pissy all day today. And I don't know, maybe the christmas spirit has gotten into me. We, we, we do want to wish everybody a merry christmas, uh, this is our episode 60. So if you have been listening to us from day one, I don't know what else. I don't know why. I don't know why you're still here, but we, we would like to thank you and really? Yeah, I don't know why they're still here. I hope we've improved. That would be my biggest thing. If you listen to this for a long time. I hope I hope we have improved by doing this. I think we have, I've gone back and listen to some prior episodes and it's like night and day now. I mean the equipment got a little better for equipment did and we got new intro music. We figured we'd go out. Well we figured most of them we're more comfortable doing it, so surely we're getting surely we sound better to other people. Right? Last week I did uh, I want to shout myself out real quick, you know, last week, last week I did the show. So we had technical difficulties last week we were going to have abby a guest on who, by the way, she is undefeated, right? She had to buy in the guru's lead. So, uh yeah, she's my first undefeated. I hope she goes all the way since I'm out of it now. Actually, I'm out of it now too, so I hope she gets beat. I'm rooting for the only reason I wanted her to lose if she played me, but I'm out of it, I'm rooting for, I want to see an undefeated season. Good luck to your abs, definitely, once we get this technical difficulty figured out here will definitely bring you back on, you have to have to at this point. But yeah, we um, so we had some scheduling issues and then we were like, oh, well, yeah, that ain't gonna be no big deal. We'll just do it on thursday. Yeah, we'll just do it, thursday and I'll go via phone, right, and we won't have no problems and we got in here and, and we were like, uh, coming in and picking your we have no sound. So it was like, okay, go to zoom, so we go to zoom and we're like no nothing. Yeah. Um So I think maybe the next time we do this maybe we we go ahead and try to do it on stream yard because I can record on stream yard. I wasn't aware of that but fatty told me that um so I can record on that and just drop it down into the audio tonic and edit it and all that stuff out of it. So we're good to go, well let's get the show, you gotta shout out. I got one. I got one. I mean I got I want to shout out everybody but I want to shout out christmas, retail workers. I feel for you. I mean ship Listen I just came from Walmart. It ain't Christmas yet. It's it's Wednesday the 22nd right? Yeah. I hope so because I I put it on all my paperwork today so I hope it's the 22nd. Alright alright so 20 22nd walmart is a freaking madhouse. I literally went in there got one box of cards and had to wait in line for 25 minutes because I had five people in front of me and then of course you get up there. I always do self checkout. I don't know what you do and what you can hate me all you want, you're costing people their jobs. Well I'm sorry ******* it's quicker and it's more convenient for me and I don't have to have the awkward conversation, I don't care, like, sorry. Anyways, so, um well of course you get up to the front, I've got some, I hate to say it, old lady right in front of me and I'm like, **** well, like this never goes well, you know, you know how it goes and it never goes well and the older generation, just the technology just sucks with them, right? And we don't hate you. I don't know, but I'm just sitting back there going, please just let me ******* do it. And of course, her husband standing there and he's just, you know, staring at me and I'm like, if I go up here, you're gonna accuse me of hitting on your wife, like, but of course you can't get a gift card to work, then she can't get her debit card to work. And I'm just, I just want to grab it and go, please let me help you. And but then of course I've got old husband over here that's like thinking I'm gonna hit on these 75 year old wife, like, I'm I'm just trying to get through and get my one box of cards through and go do my damn podcast. Like that's all I want to do, but I know, you know, I know sometimes it's hard to be patient and you know, the older generations they're very good at that. And I've noticed like at the older I've gotten, the more patient I get, but a lot of that's also due to the fact that I moved down here. It's just a lot slower living down here in Kentucky than what it is. It is up where I'm from in Ohio. Um, it's just different for me. Alright, let's, let's get into the show, let's get onto our first segment, ask juice and this is what you got big guy. This is one that I was going to ask you the question that my wife asked, but I want to wait since this is christmas, we'll wait, we'll wait to have it next week. Uh, what is the weirdest christmas gift you've ever received? My own charger? Your own charger. Okay, elaborate on that a little bit. It's okay. My in laws do not listen to the show, so I have no worries about that whatsoever. Uh, and neither does my wife, so she's not gonna bash me for telling the story. So at one point I have a decent relationship with my in laws. Right? Right, Okay. It was not always that way. Um, so there for a minute when we first had our child and we were in the process of buying our home, they had the bright idea that we would go live with them instead of renting while the purchase process was going on for my home, which I was totally against. I've lived on my own since I was 18 years old, I did not want to live in somebody's house like okay, so anyways I'm young and I'm stupid and I'm about to have my first child and I'm like, okay, let's I can bear through this. Well, you know, which I didn't know at the time, the home buying process can get stretched a little bit. So we ended up in this house damn near a year um before we moved out. Well that next christmas after we moved out, things still weren't on a very good terms with me and the in laws and I am going through and I'm opening up presents and you know, I'm trying to play nice and you know, for the daughter and for my wife and we're trying to get I'm trying to get through it um so I go and I opened up one present and it is an unboxed phone charger and I'm like that's kind of odd but alright, whatever, so I kind of get to looking around on it and I'm starting to find marks on the box that is our on the charging block, that kind of seemed familiar, like okay, so then flip it around and looking at it. I had oh yeah, so I had left when we moved out, I had left the charger there and they had wrapped it up and given it to me for christmas No, they acted no, they pretty well acted like they had bought me a new charger, I told you it was not, we were not on good terms at all. Like in most of us, it was more of a don't speak kind of terms. Like I would go, I would talk to her dad because I never really was on bad terms with him. But basically the rest of them, we just didn't talk like it was all basically sounds about like my relationship with my in laws. Well, it was, it was all basically, you know, we're gonna do this for my daughter, you know, and their granddaughter at the time and ******* we're going to power through this. And after that, I don't care if I see you the rest of the year. Like, and for the most part they didn't like I said, I'm in very, I'm in, I'm in good terms right now. I would not say things are great at all times, but I am in good terms. Better, much better terms. But yeah, that's, that's definitely the more I got to looking at this damn charger. I'm like, and I finally looked at my life when I got home and I said that was my damn charger. Did she, did she know it? Oh, she knew it once. I showed her the mark. Did she ever said, did she ever say anything? Oh yeah. And that's something that problem. And again, I didn't never like, even when it happened, like I was like, I was like, that's my charger. Like I don't, I mean I don't give a funk. I think it's hilarious name. Nobody else thinks it's funny, you know, like they wouldn't think it's funny uh to know that. I know, but I think it's funny ship, right? Whatever. That's just kind of my sense of humor. I don't never care if I get anything for christmas. Like I'm at the point in my life where if I want it, I'll go by like, I'm the same way. I mean with my, my wife and daughter always asked me what I want and I'm like, I really don't, I really don't want. Yeah, there are things I want, but I can get them myself. Yeah, that's that's basically where I'm at like, like when I got it and I feel comfortable getting it like, I'll just go buy the damn thing. Like I really coupon book for sex when I want it. Maybe. Yeah, I like that idea. You know, I told my wife, you know, get me a 12 pack of beer or, you know, a bottle of whiskey. I'd I'd be all right, give me a bottle of liquor and I'm gonna need a whole case of beer and I'm gonna need your pass to go somewhere for the weekend and maybe by myself. Well, that'd be the perfect damn gift. That would be a nice gift. I've had some of those, I've had those, that alone time. I love those, y'all can say what you want as listeners ******* they ain't nothing better than having the house to yourself explicitly and I know I haven't been married as long as you have, but I've been with the same woman for seven years now and so I've basically been married just talking just now, got the paperwork, but uh yeah, but they ain't nothing better than having the house to yourself, you know, speak speaking of paperwork, I was I was looking at the paperwork, those wedding uh the wedding license, there ain't no ******* expiration date on that. They screwed us over ************'s. She told me it was a five year commitment. I could reevaluate five years. I knew I should have read Yeah, you gotta read the fine print, there ain't no expiration Alright uh so let's get into our twitter poll. I got two of them this week actually, you know what they say, you know how the preacher says till death do us part? Yeah, I didn't know death was going to take his damn hey, you know uh give the goals to set. You got something to look forward to now we've got something to look forward to let me pull up our twitter party. I'm already getting sidetracked. Uh first twitter poll I asked it was earlier in the week I asked said it was chris since it's christmas christmas week this season, what is the greatest christmas movie of all time and I gave three options and the fourth with other um the first option was a christmas story. Second option was Home Alone, third option with the grinch. Okay. Um, and then of course other Okay, 41%. Which, this may surprise you don't surprise me much. 41% picked the christmas story. Okay. Which I'm right there with them on the Home alone is 18%. The grinch is 14% and now we have other okay. That surprises me a little bit. The grant ranch. Yeah, it kind of kind of surprised me. Um, but you know, I, I actually have the, the other, we've had some people come in. Um, one which for older people, it's a wonderful life. Um, Elf, which is one of my favorites. I hate that movie. Elf. You're talking about the one with Will Farrell. Right? I hate that movie, christmas vacation. Another one I love well, but the thing Will Farrell, it's either hit or miss with him. I didn't love it or hate it and that's just one of them. I didn't like, I liked it, but like, you know, Blades of glory I think. Yeah, I hate that within the basketball one. I didn't like it. I like that semi pro that you're a basketball. Yeah, I didn't care for that. See, I don't mind that one and I hated Daddy's home. Yeah. Mark wahlberg loves getting hard though. What I did with kevin Hart like that. That was hilarious and I and of course you gotta love Stepbrother. Yeah, I like that one. Talladega Nights. It always, Talladega Nights is a classic. I love that one. It always seemed to me with Will Farrow. It depends on who he's with. Most of his good movies is with with a good comedian, a good person to play with him, you know like john c right? You know Kevin Hart was good with him. All right, so the other twitter poll I had. Really? No, I had to watch that every freaking year in school and I do I despise that movie. I've liked it, but but I'm more new to the movie. I know it's been out for a while, but I've never watched that. They've just redone it so many times. Like it's just I'm just tired of. I've only seen the Tom Hanks version where he's the the Chief or whatever. All right, so let's let's move on to the other twitter poll that I had. It's another christmas uh question, what is your all time favorite christmas carol And my three choices I put with jingle bells, white christmas, little drummer boy and Uh we received, which this was a short pole. We did receive eight votes on this one. The other one, we have 56 boats by the way. Uh people like movies more than they like music. Of course they do. Um But number one was white Christmas at 50%. Okay, so four people uh just doing math here in my head. I just wanted you to know that I just want all. I just want everybody to know as Kentucky people to do math to jingle bells and Little drummer boy at 13%, which that's just one person the piece and then you got two people doing other. We had one person uh reply on this one. They said walking in the air. I've never even heard of it. I've never heard of. No clue. So your your vote don't count lady. So what is your favorite? I do, I ain't never been so happy in my life too when I bought one of them damn bluetooth things that I plug into my Ox cord and I just bluetooth my phone to my stereo now and I ain't never been so happy in my life. Like I said in my wife's like, I would have got that for you for christmas, I'm like, but I got it now like christmas is this far away but I needed it now ******* I'm trying to drown out christmas music now. I never have to listen to christmas music again just saying yeah. Anyways, alright, so let's get into news time, news, fresh news, news time, I missed that special effect. I didn't have that last week. I know that's the thing that's hard to do this without me, ain't it? I didn't even go on this cruise. I'm really curious to see what it's like because if you really do this cruise that you're talking about. Yeah, the wife and I have been talking and I'm I'm gonna come in here and do this solo. I'm curious to see exactly how difficult it's gonna be. It's really not that bad but it's got to be weird because I'm used to playing off you. It's not, it's not that bad. As far as the technical stuff. Yeah, doing doing that like when, when you were gone on your wedding vacation, I was gonna record solo on that that week. And I started to and I just, I I stepped over everything. I stepped over my words and I just, it just wasn't the same. I don't know. I'm just setting me up, right? I get it. I get it. I don't, I don't, I'm pretty sure I could manage it, but it's different. It's different. And you know, last week, when I did it, I just, you know, I had to kind of set myself up a little bit. I said the funk with wasted it and just got rid of the trash that deleted it because it wasn't any good. Um, but last week I felt like I had did a pretty good show actually. All right. So, uh, let's get into our news time. We're seeing uh, a really big rise in the covid cases here lately within, especially within the sports community. I know last week. Uh, which kind of sucks because we didn't, we didn't get to talk about it and it didn't happen anyway. So it didn't matter. Ohio state versus Kentucky and basketball from last saturday. We beat the funk out of north Carolina. I would have loved. Alright, so we beat the funk out of north Carolina. I was so happy. I ain't even gonna lie to you. I don't know how the **** you lose the Notre dame and then beat the ship out of north Carolina. That bad. But fuckingo Oh my God, I was so happy watching that game. Gonna turn it down. Because I I really, I think Duke has the best player in the country, ******* that kid. I don't, I don't care about the cramping issues. That kid's a pro right now playing in college, ******* Oh yeah, yeah, he's so damn good. It's ridiculous. So with with this all this Covid, I mentioned that we beat the funk out of north Carolina. Yeah. You might mention that north Carolina. We beat the absolute dog pests out of them. *******! I loved it so much. I went to a mexican restaurant. Watch that bitchin tequila with them bastards. Good Lord. I would have loved, I had to call my wife to come get me. It was terrible. Did you make any tiktok? No, no. Yeah, I didn't think about it. And I was so happy though. But they're mexicans boy, They listen, ambassadors, they ******* they get you going right? Oh yeah, definitely. All right. So with all this covid cases rising and we're seeing it within the sports community. You're seeing a lot more. The NFL post last week. They postponed uh three games. You had two games on Tuesday night and you had two games monday night. Um Oh shoot, I missed that. I thought there was only two games Tuesday. No. Yeah, yeah, there were two games Tuesday. Then the browns got postponed from saturday. Okay, monday. Which is three games. It was three games total. Yeah, because there was already a game on monday. Right. Right. Right. So there's three games that got postponed, Three games got postponed. They were in danger. Get canceled from what I've read. Um But with, with all the covid ship going on now people are um I'm hearing like Alabama's going back to their, the protocol that they used last year during the pandemic. Put it on lockdown texas A. And M. Out of the Gator Bowl because of it. They got so many covid issues. They just don't have enough starters or I'm sorry, scholarship players plus they got injuries on top of that. Um And the college football playoff committee had came out saying Jimbo Fisher can't manage a strict program. That that's exactly what second here. I'm checking on what the vibe is here. Does that surprise you? And he came to florida state florida state. Uh be honest with you. I mean, the after the Jamie's thing about stealing crab legs and ******* like, yeah, no, it does not surprise me. He didn't put no strict role now. He's a player's guy. But alright, so college football playoffs, um, if any team has Covid issues and cannot play during their semis or the championship game will be forced to forfeit. I get what you're going to say on this, but I do kind of like it like we're not postponing, we're not, there were going on there, they're going status quo. But you know, you know, you know, if they have Covid issues, two of the team may be one of the teams, they might have to forfeit if it's in the semi. But if you get, I know if you, they don't think they're going to allow a national championship to go on through a forfeit either. There's no way but I do like the stance that we're going, if you're either on the bandwagon or get the **** off of, you know, they're, they're saying this and you know, which it's kids that are playing right now. So the kids that might actually work for the kids. But you know, for us a dog that out here in the real world, you're not gonna forfeit ship **** my boss said or the, you know the big dog he's all we're going to get tested every single week and yada yada yada. I think you're gonna see more guys flip the smaller schools though because of this uh name image and likeness deal that you got going on. I think you'll see more big time players go to smaller school more like an you know college basketball. So. But then the other thing is you're just asking to enter the transfer portal because crime is gonna get a big job eventually. Like he's not gonna stay at Jacksonville State for your entire four years. You know you snag a few from texas. You snag a few from Georgia Miami can be right in there because let's not forget the sec is not that strong. Yeah I mean last year we were coming into this season going well I mean Clemson's there. Clemson proved this year that they're not all that we thought they were hit one the A. C. C. Championship. So um and I will say this because it's in my news Kenny Pickett who is the starting quarterback in the pit is skipping the peach bowl shocker. How do you does this bother you that these players it did in the beginning I'm just kind of getting to the point where I'm like I don't know because I think I'm more more business style now, but I'm kind of like what the picket got the game for paying it. If you're playing, if you got a chance to play for a national championship, I'm playing that game when they start skipping out of that, I will start having an issue. But other than that, I hate this bowl system in general. I hated the BCS system. That's all that this is is ******* money and wanting to get the sponsorship money, throw it in there for the what do you say? The Peach Bowl, Which is actually a pretty big. It's pointless. It is because what I mean, they're gonna get money. But are these players going to get any money out of it? Probably not. They might get a little bit.
