Our earth was just empty space, a mess of particles floating in the dark like a bird warming her nest. The Spirit of God hovered over the world on the first day of Creation God said, Let there be light and there was light. God saw that the light was good. He separated the light from the darkness. God called the Light day, and he called the darkness night. On the second day of Creation God said, Let there be space between the water that will divide the water above the water below, and there was a great expanse. This space separated waters above the waters below, sketching out the areas we called the sky and the ocean. Today God called this expanse heaven. On the third day of Creation, God said, Let there be dry land and oceans, and there were continents, mountains, seas and rivers. God saw the water and the dry land were good.
