I will emerge. The constant icy cold has turned my toes numb, but today they begin to tingle. In anticipation. I feel a warmth not yet present on my body, but I closed my eyes and sense it in the deeper and higher regions of the earth. I test my movement. I shift slowly left. The earth resists my attempts and I settle back into the pose I've concrete ID all winter long, but oh, it felt good to move. I twiddle my branches in the wind, letting the sap flow to their tips, letting them become colorful with the flow. I focus on each finger as I let this app sit and begin to work. I begin to create yet this is not my favorite part. If I'm being honest, I am happier and healthier when all is complete. I remember the joy of a finished bloom from springs long past, but I'm not there yet. But this is my hope. So. Day after day I concentrate. I focus on each a little bud. I shape them. I'm old them. I craft them. I create them. Do they have enough light? I wonder do they have enough to eat? I worry. Am I too early? Am I too late? Will it all be okay or will this be the year that it just doesn't work that I just can't do it? Yeah, but some days I want to burst with energy and life and renewal. Life teeming around me and colorful waves of warmth. But no I hear those wiser and older. I hear them whisper. Not yet. Little one slowly. Yes, I've heard of those who let loose too early who worked furiously to grasp the sunlight one day, but then we're left tired and drained with nothing to give the next. Not yet. A little one slowly and so I move, testing the earth slowly, creating spring's arrival. Mhm.
