A supervisor learns how to deal with any personal or job related problems with the workers under their supervision and Unit one defining the problem, we discuss how to get to the core of the problem right from the beginning. Using tex videotape and practice role playing. A supervisor learns to confront the worker with a problem. In this unit we deal with four basic management skills, diffusing anger, focusing on the real problem. Getting specifics with open ended questions and paraphrasing the workers situation to show that the manager understands and is sensitive to the workers point of view. After the work in the Unit one is completed, a supervisor has a final role playing demonstration with their management leader. This is called the volatile problem simulation. If the management leader is satisfied that the supervisor has accurately defined the problem at the end of the role play. Using the four basic management skills, the supervisor is instructed to go on to unit two, finding the solution once the actual problem is defined, then and only then are we ready to find its solution? Although each situation is unique, every problem can be described as either personal or job related. If the worker has a personal problem that is adversely affecting their work, a manager has four options in dealing with small personal problems. The manager should recommend professional help and offer the services of a TNT approved doctors covered by the company's insurance policy. In more serious situations, they may suggest a short term leave of absence, a long term leave of absence with the conditional return or termination of employment. In extreme cases and all of these cases, professional help is recommended.
