he didn't feel the presence of the thing any longer and wondered if the thing had given Chase. As he wondered this, the walkie talkie crackles to life, making him jump in his heart, catapulted nearly out of his chest. Hey, Ryan, I found Steven over. Ryan panicked and hit the button on the walkie, but as soon as he did, he didn't quite know what to say. Then it hit him, and he spoke into the walkie with shaky words. There's something out here with us. We need to go. Uh, say that again. Over. Uh, I said there's something in here with us. There was silence for a minute. Then the wonky crackled to life again. What do you mean by something? Like a coyote or something? Over. Oh, well, you ******* stop with the over ****. Matt Ryan yelled into the receiver. He instantly felt regret and guilt for yelling at his friend. The silence was perpetual. He clicked the button side, then spoke into the walkie saying, Look, I'm sorry, Matt. I didn't mean to yell. I just I saw something in the crop that scared the **** out of me. And trust me when I say we need to go. There was silence on the other end again, Matt. A minute went by. Then finally the walkie crackled back to life. Okay, Steven and I are heading out now. See you on the other side, okay?
