the Museo del Chissano, or the Diocesan Museum, is located inside the main floor of the antique Palazzo service Scoville, a building that was erected in mediaeval times. The oldest parts of the building on Via Marine ETA language. Elia refers to the 11th and 13th centuries while at the corner of Via Baron Adore, Itchy and Via Episcopo Pio. There was 1/12 century tower, which was later incorporated into other buildings under the episcopate of Carlos Cicada and Luke Coffey Esky. The Palazzo took on its current Renaissance appearance with some decorative details such as the windows and portal. The building was the residence for bishops until the fifties of the 20th century, when the prelates moved to the adjacent Palazzo Costa del Correcto, freeing up some rooms that were gradually restored. The intuition of the diocesan museum was born in the immediate post war period, thanks to the contribution of the Ligurian scholar Nino Lamb boehlje. However, it was not until May the 15th 1981 when Monsignor Alessandro Piazza opened the exhibition to the public, entrusting the museum a multiple mandate of Qatar crisis, culture protection and enchantment. In the following years, the collection has been expanding as the diocesan museum has become an ever increasingly point of recommendation in the local panorama for the conservation and restoration of goods belonging to the various churches. In its rooms, in fact, are preserved artworks coming from all over the diocesan region that otherwise would risk being lost due to neglect theft.
