Being a medic on the front line of any war is never an easy task doing the same thing on an alien planet. It's nearly impossible when I dreamt of becoming a doctor. I thought I'd be in some fancy hospital near a beach somewhere, not slogging through the trenches of Alpha Zeta for sure. I know how to patch up an injured soldier. But what do you do when that soldier has six arms? And they all look exactly the same. They didn't teach me this stuff in medical school. I can tell you that. And I'll tell you, I don't mind the constant laser fire so much. But is it too much to ask for a hot shower once in a while? I feel like I haven't been warm in weeks. They can send us hurtling through space at thousands of miles an hour. But they can't figure out how to get warm water to an alien planet.
