Stephanie Ciccarelli: In voice acting news, Morgan Freeman will be doing voice overs for six historial vignettes and tournament public-service announcements that will air during The Golf Channel and NBC broadcasts, The vignettes will feature historical player moments including David Duval, Davis Love III, Vijay Singh and former Tour Commissioner Deane Beman.
In other news, have you heard of talking menus? Menus That Talk, a Miami company that manufactures a line of talking menus for restaurants, cruise ships, and museums and other public places, is making headlines as their multilingual restaurant solutions take flight across the U.S.
These menus are geared to customers that don’t speak English, an aging population with less than perfect vision, and an active blind community that sees no reason to stay at home.

To conclude, as reported by Wired.com, game developer Reality Pump, recently learned the hard way when producing their first RPG or role playing game called Two Worlds, that video game should not be recorded by the in-house staff. The sequel, Two Worlds: The Temptation is said to have better imagery and also employs professional voice actors, much to the delight of the gaming faithful.

Stephanie Ciccarelli: Hello, folks and welcome to Voice Coaches Radio. I’m John Gallogly, here to talk about marketing yourself online as a professional voice talent. I’ve found some websites online that will host your demo and send the voice over job leads to your e-mail.
The one in particular that really peak my interest was Voices.com. Voice Coaches has had some personal experience with this website and their customer service is exceptional. Voices.com is the online market place for voice talent and they deal with about 75,000 clients from around the world including NBC, Discovery, and The History Channel.
Now, keep in mind, online marketing is a key component in marketing yourself but it is not the end all. But in this day and age, online marketing can be a great way to get work and establish new clients. And I found Voices.com to be the perfect compliment to the rest of your marketing.
You could join the website for a $100 a year and for that, you get 25 megabytes of demo space. And for those of you who don’t know, that is plenty of space for multiple demos.
Now, the way it works is you set up a profile with your name, contact information, what your voice does well, your recording capabilities, delivery capabilities, and then a little bit about your voice over experience.
Once I set up my profile and added my demo, I received about four or job leads virtually immediately in my e-mail. Typically, in a voice over job lead that Voices.com send you, it will name the company, what type of voice they’re looking for, the range in which they’re willing to pay, and how they want you to apply.
In other words, whether you should send your demo, what type of demo they will be looking for or if they included a part of a script for you to audition, so in that case, you would read the script, you would attach the audio file, preferably an MP3 when you apply to the job which leads me to this: When marketing yourself online, it’s almost imperative to have recording capabilities.
A lot of the clients I’ve found on Voices.com do require you to read part of their script and send it in MP3 form. I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences with Voices.com. I get leads in my e-mail everyday and the Voices.com will send information and links to new voice over expert podcast online.
In fact, our own Voice Coaches President, David Bourgeois has a podcast online at Voices.com right now. So, I have to tell you folks, besides Voices.com being an excellent marketing resource with their blog and always updating podcast, they’re an excellent resource for information as well.
Marketing yourself online is a key component in being a professional voice talent in this day and age but remember it’s not the only way to market yourself.
