not too far from here is a lovely neighborhood, with tree lined streets and beautiful homes. Living side by side on a quiet street in this nice neighborhood. Our two families. Every evening after dinner, the dads would meet as they placed their families garbage in trash cans located between their homes. Good evening The first dad would say Good evening. The second dad would reply. One night when all was quiet, a band of hungry raccoons showed up. Now raccoons are clever, they'll eat just about anything and they're notorious for appending trash cans to get the scraps. They started with the first dad's trash cans which were flimsy and missing lids. They gloriously feasted on all the leftovers the family had discarded, which created an awful mess. Then the raccoons turned their attention to the second dad's trash cans. But unlike his neighbor, this dad had heavy duty containers with animal proof lids. So no matter what the raccoons tried, they were unsuccessful at accessing the delicious feast inside the next morning as they inspected the mess left by the raccoons, the first dad turned to the other and asked why did the raccoons get into my trash cans but left yours untouched. The second tad thought for a moment and said, I realized long ago that there wasn't much I could do about the raccoons desire and motivation for food. That's just natural. But I figured that sturdy trash cans with tight fitting and secure lids would prevent them from getting inside and it looks like it was worth it to. Mhm.
