To be an effective parent, you must work on your own personal issues. If you don't, you only pass your baggy John to your Children like your parents passed. There's onto you. This isn't to say that your parents were evil, only that they had dysfunctional behaviors and beliefs that they passed on to you. And now you can choose whether you want to pass these traits onto your Children or not. You have the opportunity to break the cycle. You can end it now. Please do not think you do not have any issues. We all have issues, whether we know it or not, and whether we like it or not. By clearing your issues, your life gets easier and you and your Children will be happier. The healthiest parents in the world are parents who work on their own personal issues or inefficient and dysfunctional programs, behaviors or beliefs. Sometimes it is hard for people to do this simply because they are unconscious of these problems or because it hurts their pride.
