This is Amboseli, southern Kenya here, lions and Masai communities coexist, but this was not always the case. 16 years ago, lions in Amboseli had been hunted to near extinction. No lions above the age of 10 survived. The Masai warriors and their communities came together to find solutions to conflict. Instead of killing lions. They decided to use traditional knowledge and science to better understand lion behavior and to preempt lion attacks on livestock.
