This video will show you step by step how to collect a nasal swab sample in your home. The entire process should take less than five minutes. We will start with the kit you received from your doctor for this clinical study. The kit contains two individually packaged nasal swabs, too tall plastic tubes with screw caps, each containing a small amount of liquid. One swab requisition card to biohazard bags In one instruction card. The instruction card should be used to guide you in collecting the swab samples at home, wash your hands with soap and water, drying them thoroughly with a clean towel on a clean hard surface near a sink. You will unpack the contents of the kit for the first nasal swabbing procedure for each swabbing procedure. You will need one nasal swab, one tall plastic tube, the instruction card, one biohazard bag and the swab requisition card. Set aside the remaining items. To begin open the tall plastic tube and place the open tube upright on a clean hard surface, setting the cap aside open the nasal swab package at the end with the plastic handle. Next while holding the plastic handle care flavor, removed the swab from the packaging without touching the swab tip with your hands or laying the swab down on any surface. Discard the empty nasal swab package till your head back slightly and gently insert the swab into one nostril, starting the swab along the fleshy center of the nose. Using the second swab tube and biohazard bag on the swab requisition card, using a pen, write the date you collected the second nasal swab in the red box beneath quote collection date. Second swap place both sealed biohazard bags with the completed swab. Requisition card into the larger clear plastic bag and close the zipper top. The completed kits should be stored upright or flat at room temperature until return to the clinic, wash your hands with soap and water, drying thoroughly with a clean towel.
