She quickly came upon a long legged black monkey, and proceeded to ask, Can we be friends, Monkey? The monkey thoughtfully replied, You are big, and cannot swing on trees like I do so. I cannot be your friend disappointed, and a little defeated. The elephant continued to search. When it stumbled across a rabbit she proceeded to ask him, Can we be friends? Rabbit? The Rabbit looked at the elephant and replied, You are too big to fit inside my burrow, you cannot be my friend. So the elephant carried on through the jungle growth until she met a frog, she asked, Will you be my friend Frog? The Frog replied. You are too big and heavy, you cannot jump like me. I am sorry, but you can't be my friend. Getting fully fed up. The elephant carried on walking along the jungle path until she met a tall giraffe, and finally asked, will you be my friend, Tall giraffe? The giraffe replied, You are tall, like me, but your neck is far too short to reach the high hanging berries. Obviously you can't be my friend. The elephant continued to ask other animals she met on her way, but always received the same reply. She was becoming quite sad and lonelier than ever. The following day the elephants saw all the forest animals running in fear. She stopped a terrified brown bear to ask what was happening, and was quickly told a giant sized tiger was attacking all the smaller animals. The elephant wanted to help and save the other animals, so she went up to the tiger and said, Please, sir, leave my friends alone, Do not endure or eat them. The tiger didn't listen.
