I wish I remembered what I wanted to be when I was little and I wish I could make that happen right now, right here along the seaside. But for now I remain quiet and I keep listening to the waves as they're crashing, the monster inside will never leave. So I offered it a place to stay. That restless rage that crashes like waves through my cliffside veins. And I tried to come to terms with the chaos inside, but it isn't easy. There's no panacea to sadness, no way to stop the waves crashes. I took one long look at your eyelashes and their gusts of winds give me wings. There's no cure all to sadness. But by God, you come close to it and in the ambulance, you held my hand to stop me from trembling. Your fingers were cold to the touch, not transferring any of your warmth. I didn't know what to feel or what I was thinking of. I wish I could use your love as a blanket in a cycle of endless plunges to the depths of the sea. I keep seeing your face at the bottom of it all with the smile. Of calling sirens and I'm begging for the next fall in September. I'll hold you if I can. Rocky Shores. The pitch black below and the soft song sung by the singing swan. I'm ready to start again.
