Hi, this is Sofia for Smooch. Nyc Smooch is a digital retouching house that works with a lot of high end shooters like Anna Williams, chris, Kramer, Sebastian Fiona Greg broom. Just to name a few. The image we're going to be talking about is from a project that Anna Williams has created called the veracity. What you see here is the final retouched black and white image. Initially, anna was interested in both black and white and color versions. So we began our retouching process in color. Here is the raw file. We started by cleaning up any areas that would prove to be distracting as you can see. We kept this part minimal. The idea is to keep a sense of realness by maintaining the skin as a living breathing element and this is a large part of Anna's faith in us. The process of allowing skin to be skin is something we really pride ourselves on. Anna had also asked that we make the shoes pop slightly since they are the selling point, We masked out the shoes and added just a touch of glow so they became a more powerful element. The goal was to bring the shoes to life, but to keep the overall evocative sensuality that anna has captured as the focal point. Then we added a bit more detail and definition to the center of the image before we began color balancing. However, ANna had decided that she wanted the image only in black and white. So we converted it and then made certain shifts and density that we felt really helped enhance the suspension of the moment. This last move added density to the blankets and shadows that also created a bit more weight. You really begin to feel the model, Jonathan's almost addictive passion towards this woman he's lying with. It is such a stunning photograph, holds this exotic mix of ferocity and romanticism. Working on Anna's images is always such a rewarding experience. We really feel part of the creative process and this makes for an incredibly fulfilling relationship, Thanks so much.
