As winter approached, the German high command planned huge quantities of tanks, men and material for a Titanic spring offensive. The Red Army correctly predicted that the blow would come at a large bulge in the front, near cursed. Knowing the attack would be powerful, they frantically prepared their defences, setting the stage for the most intense and destructive tank battle ever seen. The irresistible German offence was about to collide with the immovable Russian defence in a cauldron of steel, explosives and blood.
