mate, artist and author Pat Brock Thompson and photographer and author Lisa and its burger. Pat grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona, when she was in her early twenties, when she was 47. She took a drawing class but did not begin pursuing art until she neared retirement, shattering the old adage. Old dogs can't learn new tricks. Pet began with oil paints but soon moved to acrylics. She spent time exploring other media, including ceramics, printmaking, collage, water colors and various sinks. Lisa became aware of her mother in law's gift, as Pat would share images of her work through emails. After several years of this correspondence, Lisa approached Pad about doing a book simply for family and friends. Over a period of five years, the project became larger in scope than the authors originally conceived. As Lisa began cataloging and photographing Pats artwork, she saw an opportunity to encourage a broader audience with the images she was capturing, she believed through Pat Story. Others could be inspired to pursue art regardless of their age. Lisa photographed several 100 paintings, drawings and Monta prints of pats. She then narrowed that down to 165 paintings for the book itself. In Between Peanut Butter Cookies is a beautiful book printed in Canada by hemlock printers in an elaborate press room using Ah, Heidelberg Press. There is nothing quite like the smell of really ink from a book printed on an offset press, the authors wish is that this book will inspire you to get a little dirty and create some art yourself. It is never too late to try something new and creative.
