patients with Type two diabetes have many unmet treatment needs, with 50% having an HB A one C above the treatment goal of less than 7% and most adults with type two diabetes having overweight or obesity multiple pharmacological treatments are now available to treat Type two diabetes, and using combinations of these treatments has the potential to address some of these unmet needs. For example, several randomised controlled trials in patients with Type two diabetes have demonstrated that combining a GLP one receptor agonist with an S G lt two inhibitor leads to a greater reduction in HB A one C compared to using an S GLT two inhibitor. In the same trials, a greater decrease in body weight was observed for patients treated with combination therapy versus monotherapy with an S GLT two inhibitor. Many other combinations are currently under development and hold promise for the future
