Welcome to this guided meditation practice. Perhaps you have just had a nightmare. Perhaps you have just woken up in the middle of the night and cannot go back to sleep. It's okay. I want to remind you that you are safe. Take a long deep breath in and a long deep breath out. Feel your heart begin to slow down. Be gentle with yourself with your body and your mind, and again take a long deep breath in and a long deep breath out. Your body is relaxing, returning to an inner calm and one last time. Take a long deep breath in and a long deep breath out. Release all the air from the lungs, feeling the sensations of the belly contracting and allowing the breath to return to its natural rhythm. Knowing that the breath is guiding you back into a place of comfort and serenity. Your bed is soft and comfortable, your mind is being empty. To fear, worry or any other doubts you may have. Yeah, there is nothing else to do but to listen to my voice, to guide you back into a restful sleep. And now I want you to imagine a place that is perfectly safe and very comfortable. Imagine what this place would look like. Create an image in your mind of all the details of your safe, peaceful place, and by maintaining this image in your mind, begin to relax your body.
