As of 2014 it was a $22.4 billion industry, with the Centers for Disease Control, the CDC estimating that 70% of Americans are overweight, including the 35% that are obese, according to their body mass index. How can an industry that is generating so much money be losing this fight? Its simple. This industry generates a majority of its money by producing books, supplements and workouts that contain conflicting information. These products are confusing but don't cover the full range of issues that people are combating. The diet industry is even worse with the sheer number of diets and dieters that fail. Yet there's always a new eat this and not that type of created. Where doesn't stop it stops here.
