Benjamin Franklin, also called Ben for England, was born January 17th 17 06 in Boston, Massachusetts, and died April 17th 17 90 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Known to be a brilliant polymath, he was also American printer publisher, author, inventor, scientist and diplomat. As one of the four most of the founding fathers, Franklin helped draft the Declaration of Independence and was one of its Sinus. He also represented the United States and France during the American Revolution and was a delegate to the constitutional convention. He made important contributions of science, especially in the understanding of electricity, and is remembered for the wit, wisdom and elegance of his writings. One of his inventions was the lightning rod responsible for saving countless lives as well as preventing property damage from the lightning strikes is still in use to this very day.
