narration, one October in Alabama, is known for its Saturday football tussles made famous by the flagship state school, the University of Alabama Mobile. For over 75 years, the Alabama Mobile Seahawks have squared off with their arch rivals from Johnson City, Tennessee, the Tennessee A and M Commonwealth. This matchup plays out every year on the third Saturday in October and has become synonymous with gridiron glory. Unfortunately for a small town in southwest Alabama, this moniker would take on a tragic meaning when, in October of 1979 and Alabama death row inmate named Zachary Harding escaped police custody and proceeded to go on a killing spree in the sleepy farming community of Hackle Berg, Alabama. Believing he was dead at the end of this gruesome bloodbath, authorities were baffled when he struck again on the third Saturday in October of 1981. Inexplicably, he would return again to claim innocents lives in the Hackle Berg area in October of 1984 and 1987. For the past six years, the residents of Hackle Berg have made it through the third Saturday in October without incident. Unfortunately for them, they won't make it through 1/7 narration, too. As the game rages on and with the sun hanging low in the sky, Maggie, PJ and Holcomb begin their trek across the road to Peter's party house, unaware these will be the final moments of innocents they experience in their short lives. Or his darkness falls across hackle Berg. So, too, does the long shadow of Zach Harding.
