what I wish I knew in my twenties life lessons of a stoic written by Ri Yong, narrated by Tony Rust, who this book is for while the title of this book has specified twenties, it really doesn't matter how old you are. Contained in this book are life lessons to reflect on for people of all ages. I have taken lessons from my own life experience as well as from the Stoics, including a particulars Seneca and Marcus Aurelius. I used this list regularly and have found great value from doing so. I hope you will also benefit from using this list introduction. I was asked to give a talk at a private company retreat to mostly people in their twenties with the title What? I wish I knew when I was 25. It was a good opportunity for me to reflect on my life and the lessons that I've learned. I've decided to share this task so that you may take something out of it as well. In order for you to get the most value from out of this book, I suggest that you focus on one thing only that resonates the most with you. If you try to work on all or even a few of them at once, you'll most likely not do any of them and soon forget about the ideas altogether. As you read the book, take notes. Consider your thoughts. Do you agree or disagree? Why? Once you finished the book, consider which resonates the most with you and why it resonates. Next, think about how you can implement your chosen ideal in your life. For example, you could decide to spend just five minutes a day for a month working on one of the 25 things and see how it goes for you. If you chose. Be grateful, then it could be just spending five minutes a day writing everything you're grateful for. If you choose giving, then it could be giving one thing daily in the form of favor gift time service without any expectation of return. I suggest that you track your progress daily with a journal and write your thoughts sometime in the evening so you have something to write about. You can do it online or with a physical journal. Now let's get started. Number one. Trust your intuition. Your intuition is the result of all your experiences and the things you've learned, Your gut instinct is powerful. Learn to trust it. You won't always understand why your intuition tells you to do something. But as Steve Jobs says, you'll be able to connect the dots later on when you look back. Number two. Stay curious. Have a child like wonder about the world and the people around you be present. Notice the small things. The color of the leaves in the park, the smell of your partners. Hair, the taste of coffee. Think about how very small Children behave. They're not paying attention to their self image. Whether they'd look stupid, weird or fail, they just go for it. Be bold, try different things.
