In the days following the capture of the Rosario, the English captains become older, venturing closer to the Spanish ships, breaking them with relentless fire. Still, no amount of cannon shot seems to be able to slow the unrelenting push of the unstoppable armada as it heads north towards the Netherlands to rendezvous with the Duke of Parma's army and invade England. Ironically, the Spanish commander, Medina Sedona, finds no comfort in the steady progress of his fleet. Despite dispatching daily messengers, Medina Sedona has yet to receive any word from the Duke of Parma. Medina Sedona convenes a Council of War, which recommends the armada anchor in the protected harbour behind the Isle of Wight until word is received that Parma's troops are ready to sail out from the Netherlands and meet the armada.
