You've probably heard a lot about climate change, the environment and sustainability over the past few years, our ecological footprint measures the area of land and water we need to produce the resources we use and to accommodate our waste. The ecological footprint is a great tool to understand the global impacts of human beings on the environment. By comparing our ecological footprint to the total land and water area available on our earth, our bio capacity, we can see that we are consuming too much Today, humanity is using the equivalent of 1.75 planets. If you think about it like a bank account instead of living off our interests each year, we are digging more and more into our capital. Some of these resources, such as oil, coal and natural gas, produce greenhouse gasses Once burned, Scientists have found that there is a correlation between greenhouse gasses and rising temperatures on our planet.
