19,000 US solo workers were laid off. So think about that number 19,000 solar workers were laid off. That is a significant amount of people that are on the street. And I say that with love and with care. I don't mean that to be harsh, but those are the facts. So how you navigating Cove in 19? If you're a project developer, if you're in the CNN space, if you're just any PC or if you're in finance, manufacturing or even distribution, how you navigating through covert 19? It's Anthony Conklin. Welcome to this very special podcast going out to everyone in the solar industry. I happen to be in the solar industry. I love the industry, have been in it for more than 13 years. I've had some really great experiences. I've had some horrific spirit experiences, but for the most part it's been a learning opportunity. And I basically love solar. I wanna talk to you today about not just about how Covad, 19 is changing the landscape, but we know that there are a lot of people I spoke to a few weeks ago and said, Well, you know what? Kobe, 19 that could affect solar because solar is essential and we're in the energy business, and energy is essential. Well, when you take a look at it literally every industry across the entire planet, where is my friend would say across the plain summer affected more than others. Mostly, it's hourly employees high paid individuals, and it didn't discriminate. They went after everyone. So in the solar industry. Specifically, according to this CIA report that I'm looking at right now, whether you're in residential, see, and I hear any PC or even a distributor or manufacturing, you were hit pretty hard. And the majority of the people that relate off were in the sea and I, e p c and Project Development space. The rest of the industry took significant pay cuts, or we're going to be furloughed over the next couple weeks. Now, this is this is a report from March 22nd to April 10th so these numbers may change. So why am I throwing up all over you and giving you this information while I'm giving it to you for a very specific purpose? But I'm gonna talk to you about the problem. I'm gonna talk to you about what the solution of the problem is going to be. We know the problem is Cove in 19. But is it really cove in 19 or where a lot of businesses just They say that high tides for little boats were just the business that was part of the groundswell of solar. Warren Buffett says. You can see who's naked when the tide goes out. Well, there are a lot of companies and solar that weren't really doing what they say they were doing there. So companies are inflating their numbers. They were posturing themselves as organizations that were actually doing more than what they said they were going to d'oh! And now they're drawn on the carpet and now they're struggling to get back on track. So that's the problem. Here is the solution. Whether you're in CNN residential financing, manufacturing project development, what's the one thing that all of those different verticals and solar need to do right now? They need to put together a sales outreach strategy that's going to effectively touch every single ideal prospect and customer that they've spoken to in the past 18 months. Why 18 months, Anthony? Because there are people that can't remember your last phone call and the people who don't remember your last phone call. But the call's going to be Hey, were in this together. I have a solution that's going to help you significantly and permanently eliminate your energy bill. Whatever your pitches. If you're in, if you're any PC Hey, we're gonna engineer, procure, and we're gonna construct and deliver the best solar system on the planet. If you're in finance, we're gonna make sure that we finance that this project for you and it's gonna have the highest returns, right? I'm jumping back and forth here, but what I'm saying here and it's something I need you to pay very close attention to. Nothing happens until a sale is made. If you don't have a outreach strategy right now as we speak and I'm talking April 14th 2020. If you don't have an outreach program that includes video that includes audio that includes text messaging. In six months you won't be anywhere. So let's see. Will be back to some type of normal, normal or normal 2.0, business in the next 90 days. What are you doing right now? Reach out to your ideal prospect and let them know. Hey, I'm here for you. We're in this together. I think it's an opportunity to show you, and then whatever your picture's gonna be, what I'm saying is, is that now is the time for you to put that outreach program in place and start making the calls. Start sending the videos, start sending the audio's do the out rich. Listen, everybody's at home. No one is going into the office. For the most part. 90% of the solar industry is at home, and the other 10% are trying to show up in Finnish projects. But who's gonna show up at someone's house or someone's building to complete a project? Who from the utilities go out and do an inspection? Who are you going to get a permit from? Nothing is happening in solar. So what are you doing right now? Instead of twiddling your thumbs and waiting for that stimulus money to come and stop banking on stimulus money because at the end of the day, if you had your finances in place and if you really manage your money, you'd have at least six months to run your business, and I don't mean that. It's hyperbole. I mean, realistically, I know solar developers right now that of six months worth of money that will keep them floating despite having stimulus money. So my message for you today your results in six months are gonna come from the sales, outreach and activities that you do right now. And remember, you have greatness within you. Let's get back on track. Let's get that outreach going. And don't forget with a passion.
