Steve Jobs had a great quote. If you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time. One of the most important and valuable parts of Bahr 40 and one that will stay with you long after the 52 weeks is done is the achievement mindset. While exercise and diet improvements are major components of this program, the mental training aspect is the real engine that's driving the train and is by far the most powerful aspect that will have the most significant impacts in every area of your life. Why I like that Steve Jobs quote is that I think it hits the nail on the head with regard to the pursuit of personal excellence and self mastery. When it comes to becoming the best, most successful version of yourself, it is a lifetime pursuit, and there are no two ways about it. Simply put, there is no finish line. Time is constantly moving us forward through life, and each day we have an abundance of small choices to make, like small forks in the road. One way will slightly elevator improve us and the other is bringing us slightly down in its individual form. The decision Either way, it's probably inconsequential. I'm supposed to exercise today, but I don't feel like it. That's a perfect example, as it's something that anyone fitness oriented, has experienced. If you skip working out, nothing terrible happens. And if you do work out, nothing amazing or awesome instantly happens. Either decision brings no noticeable outcome in the immediate sense. The choice to procrastinate brings us slightly down as we take the easy way out and ever so slightly, add a little fuel to the subconscious habit equation. Formula of skipping a workout is fine when fill in the blank with the excuse of choice. On the other hand, the harder decision to do the workout and tough it out is one more opportunity to subconsciously reinforce the notion that self commitments are going to be upheld and procrastination is not an option.
