Many years ago, a young Cherokee girl from the state of Oklahoma had dreams of her own that had an incredible impact on how we view the stars, moon and planets above. Mary Golda Ross was born in August 9 1908. A time when girls grew into women who were trained to manage a household. If they were lucky enough to attend school, they were guided toward more genteel acceptable subjects such as reading, spelling, history, geography and handwriting. They also learned manners and how to walk like a lady in a typical american classroom. At the time, girls were not encouraged to pursue subjects such as math, biology and other sciences. Young women were expected to learn how to best keep house and raise their Children, but this was not the case with mary Golda ross. Mary was born into the Cherokee indian tribe in Oklahoma.
