we've known the world was warming up for a while and scientists have been calculating the potential consequences of this, But now it's globally recognized that we need to limit this warming to 1.5° in order to survive. If we don't, we're going to see more and more of the extreme weather events that have already started making it difficult for wildlife to survive and eventually the crops that we rely on to feed us. Current calculations show we are on track for between 2-4° warming, which could be catastrophic. It is vital that we all act now at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2015, the Paris agreement was put forward. It now has over 190 countries signed up committed to reduce their environmental impact. The UN's aim for the planet to be operating at net zero by 2050 at the latest, ideally sooner. With many organizations aiming for 2030 Net zero means that the emissions we put into the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide that is released when we burn fossil fuels must be no more than the carbon taken out, such as breathing by trees or absorbed by the oceans. This should enable temperatures to stabilize, but we can't currently remove from the atmosphere all the carbon that we are producing. So we have to stop releasing so much we need to reduce the carbon emissions from everything we do for each country to meet this target every business home and individual must do everything they can to work together to achieve this equilibrium for the future of our planet and all of its inhabitants. We can do it. Elevate are committed to becoming more sustainable and that means looking at where we can reduce our environmental impact across everything we do, including all areas and staff. So whilst working for elevate, we're asking everyone to prioritize sustainability. We can curb global warming. If we all make reductions in every area we can. It's a journey and none of us are perfect, but all of our actions add up. Here's elevate staff's top 10 actions you can take to reduce overall waste. one turn off any lights when not in use to unplug any electronic equipment and charge is not in use. three.
